Opportunity:

Lawrence D. Crocker College Prep is searching for a PK - 8th grade Assistant Principal for the 2019-2020 school year. The Assistant Principal serves on the school’s leadership team, facilitates professional development, and fosters an academic environment where all students can achieve at high levels.

Background:

New Orleans College Prep's mission is to prepare students with academic and life skills for success in college, career, and beyond. 

Over the past 10 years, NOCP has grown from a single school with a single grade of 100 students, to now operate 3 campuses spanning grades PK-12 and serving over 1,500 students. NOCP is doing its part in a broader city-wide vision to make New Orleans the first 100% high-performing urban school system in our nation’s history.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan rigorous and relevant professional development to meet the needs of managed teachers and whole school needs

  • Manage an educational program that results in dramatic student achievement gains for every child

  • Cultivate and lead a staff, student, and parent culture that advances the college mission for every child

  • Lead a team of teachers and school staff to achieve the academic mission, develop professionally, and meet or exceed their individual goals

  • Monitor/track a comprehensive set of performance metrics on a frequent basis to inform decision-making of all staff

  • Manage discipline and school systems that promote a structured, safe and orderly environment for learning.

  • Recruit and select team members that share the core values of our organization and embody the competencies necessary to achieve our goals

  • Establish and maintain NOCP cultural expectations for staff, students, and parents

  • Other duties as assigned by the principal and network staff.
