Job Description:


New Orleans College Prep is seeking college student interns to work in our Communications Department. If you are interested in learning about non-profit communications and marketing, this is a chance to work at a network of schools that ensures college success for all children. The selected individuals will  handle a variety of communications tasks, support the Director of Communication, and will work with a variety of communications platforms. Moreover, your work would make a lasting contribution to the revitalization of New Orleans. 


New Orleans College Prep’s (NOCP) mission is to prepare each of our students to enter and excel in a rigorous four-year college or university.  Over the past 10 years, NOCP has grown from a single school with a single grade of 100 students, to now operating 3 charter schools that span from birth (6 weeks) to 12th grade and serve over 1,200 students.   NOCP is doing its part in a broader city-wide vision to make New Orleans the first 100% high-performing urban school system in our nation’s history.

  • Work with Director of Communications to create social media calendar for the school year.

  • Assist in the design and development of interactive websites for all school sites.

  • Devise strategy and systems for tracking marketing effectiveness.

  • Assess advertising and marketing needs and develop plan for student enrollment and annual events at each school.

  • Organize photos and pull best photos for new marketing materials.

  • Provide video production and digital photography support

  • Provide graphic support using Adobe Creative Suite

  • Assist with covering school events across the network; writing articles/social media posts on events

  • Assist with the research, writing and editing of articles for a variety of internal and external publications

  • Assist with event promotions

  • Monitor media clips and media reports and social media posts

Experience and Skills:


  • Proficiency in writing, grammar, and editing.

  • Ability to organize materials in a logical and compelling manner.

  • Well-developed and demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in team environment.

  • Ability to follow directions and work unsupervised on multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Photoshop, Illustrator, and some design experience desired.



NOCP will offer a moderate stipend monthly.
